Car Badge Manufacturing
During production, your product will go through over 30 manual procedures by hand. Our skilled team will create tooling, followed by stampings or castings. They will then be enamelled, polished and plated. Everything is done by our skilled British team to create the product you have been looking for.
So that you can better understand how your Car Badges are manufactured here in the UK, we have condensed the full process down to 9 simple steps...

Step 1 - Design
At this early stage, it is very important that we design your product to be suitable for production purposes. Our design team will work with your idea, logo or whatever it is you have and produce a pre-production visual of your final product.
Step 2 - Tooling
The next critical stage is developing the tooling required for mass production. A CNC milling machine cuts your design into a block of steel. This becomes a die which will be used to stamp your badges individually.

Step 3 - Stamping
In this stage we use the tooling we have created to stamp your design into the desired metal. This is the first stage off mass production.
Step 4 - Clipping
This is where we remove any excess metal from the stamping. This is done by hand for small production runs using a very fine jigsaw blade. For larger production runs the badges are loaded into a clipping machine which helps automate the process.

Step 5 - Soldering
Here we solder the desired fixation on to the product. There are various soldering methods to do this but for car badges we use silver solder and heat this up using a microwelder.
Step 6 - Enamelling
This is where we add colour to the product. This is usually done by hand using either a brush or syringe. We can use either hard enamel which is in a resin form or vitreous enamel which is a powder that we fire to make a glass.

Step 7 - Polishing
In this stage we firstly grind off any excess enamel on the surface before hand polishing the products to create a flat smooth lustrous finish.
Step 8 - Plating
At this point we are ready to give the product their final finish. This is done by a process called electroplating. At this stage we can coat the product with a layer of metal to give them the desired colour. This is often chrome plating for car badges due to it's durable elements.

Step 9 - Quality Control
Now it's time for one last inspection and wipe over before despatch.
